VIP is the most abused word in Formula 1 hospitality. Operators use it for rooftop bars with finger food and for private superyachts with a full crew. The price difference between the two can be twenty times. The experience difference is larger.
This guide covers the three VIP tiers that matter for Monaco Grand Prix 2026. Paddock Club, trackside hospitality and superyacht access. We explain what is actually included at each level, what separates a good version from an average one, and how to match the tier to the group you are travelling with.

What VIP Means at Monaco
At Monaco, VIP divides cleanly by location. The Paddock Club sits inside the paddock complex above the pit lane, with direct access to the garages and the starting grid on race day. Trackside hospitality suites sit on private terraces at the most famous corners of the circuit. Superyacht hospitality sits on the water, on a yacht berthed inside Port Hercule, inside the circuit itself.
Each tier has a different character. Paddock Club is the most sport focused, attended largely by people who came for the racing. Trackside suites balance sport and social. Superyachts balance social and sport, with the weekend extending into evening hospitality that most other tiers do not offer.
Paddock Club: The Sport Focused Tier
The Paddock Club is the F1 official hospitality tier, operated by F1 Experiences and positioned directly above the pit lane. Guests receive a numbered seat on the terrace above the pits, access to a catered lounge with an open bar, and a timed pit lane walk before each session. On race day there is also grid walk access for a limited number of guests.
Catering is strong, typically a buffet prepared by a named European chef. Drinks are open and include champagne. The environment is busy during sessions because this is where most F1 press and team guests also spend their time.
Paddock Club works best for guests who came for the racing and want proximity to the sport itself. It is less suited for guests who want to socialise across a long evening, because the lounge closes with the track.
Trackside Hospitality: The Best View Plus a Suite
Trackside hospitality suites are operated by independent partners with long term rights to specific buildings along the circuit. The best known sit at the Nouvelle Chicane, around the swimming pool complex and above Casino Square. Each suite has a reserved view of a famous corner, catering from a local kitchen, and a private bar.
Quality varies by operator. A top tier suite has an experienced head of hospitality, a wine list that makes sense with the menu, and a concierge who can arrange restaurant bookings and nightclub entry. A weaker operator offers the same footprint with slower service and a more limited bar.
Trackside suites suit guests who prioritise the view and the comfort of a private space, who like a strong lunch but are happy to move on to dinner elsewhere. They are also the most photogenic tier for social content.

Superyacht VIP: The Highest Tier
Superyacht VIP is a different product. You do not buy a seat. You buy a weekend on board. A yacht berthed inside Port Hercule, with the circuit running alongside, a crew assigned to your party, a chef preparing meals to order, open bars throughout each session, and often paddock access included in the package. The yacht is your base from Friday morning through Sunday evening.
This is the tier guests choose when they value hospitality continuity. You wake up at the circuit, watch qualifying from the sundeck, move to the aft for lunch, take a tender to lunch ashore if you prefer, and return for the evening without a transfer queue or a taxi fight. Evenings extend into dinner on board and into the harbour's social circuit after dark.

How to Choose the Right VIP Tier for Your Group
Two guests who live for motorsport and want to spend the weekend close to the cars are probably happiest in the Paddock Club. A couple who want a strong lunch view and a relaxed race day are a match for a trackside suite. Four to twelve guests who want the weekend to be a continuous experience, with hospitality running from morning through midnight, usually end up on a yacht.
Budget interacts with group size. The Paddock Club and trackside suites scale linearly per guest. A yacht has a fixed cost that divides across the party, which means larger groups often find the yacht tier more efficient per head than a comparable number of Paddock Club passes. Our yacht experience price breakdown explains how the numbers work for different group sizes.
Answered
Frequently Asked Questions
Which VIP tier offers the best view of the Monaco Grand Prix?
Superyacht VIP offers the most continuous view because the yacht sits inside the circuit. Paddock Club has the best sport focused view above the pit lane. Trackside suites excel at specific corners.
Is the Paddock Club worth the price at Monaco?
For guests who value proximity to the sport, garage access and the F1 hospitality experience, yes. For guests who want a long weekend of social hospitality, a trackside suite or a yacht is often a better fit.
Can VIP tickets include paddock access?
Paddock Club includes paddock access by definition. Trackside suites and yacht packages can include paddock access as an upgrade, usually on qualifying day or race day.
What is included in a superyacht VIP package?
A typical package includes a reserved berth inside Port Hercule, cabin accommodation for multi night packages, all meals and drinks on board, private transfers from Nice, a dedicated crew, and often paddock access.
How far in advance should VIP tickets be booked?
Paddock Club and premium trackside suites usually sell out by March of the race year. Prime yacht berths are typically confirmed twelve to eighteen months ahead. Book early for the best position.
Is VIP at Monaco formal or relaxed?
Mostly relaxed with smart attire. Paddock Club trends smart casual during the day and smarter at evening events. Yacht dress codes are relaxed on deck and smart at dinner.
